First Day of December!

Wow, it's the first of December! Where has the year gone!?!?!?!?!?!? Soon enough, we will all be counting down the clock to 2010. Amazing.

Life seems to get busier and faster every week. With all the modern convienences we have in this day and age, I'd like to think I have more time.... but it just doesn't seem to be working out that way. Rather it seems, my life is constantly in high-speed. And the only time I finally take time for myself is when I get sick and am forced to lay-low and take it easy. Then all I can think about is things I am missing out on doing.
My goal for 2010 is to take more time for myself, to slow down, enjoy the things I so take for granted and spend more time doing the things that really truly matter. I have high expectations for 2010, but I'm going to look at each goal I wish to achieve, and make sure it's a reasonable goal and that I don't have too many goals to meet, or othewise I'm just fooling myself in trying to get them all done. My whole purpose for 2010 is to slow down and enjoy-- so I gotta remember that when making out my 'list' of goals for 2010.

Perhaps it's time for us all to start examining our goals for the coming year and tweaking them where necessary.

WOWWWWWW-- I've been MIA for a long while!

Well, as strange at it may seem, I actually lost my link to my blog, and for the life of me could not remember how to get back here. THEN by a strange luck of chance, I found the link and here I am!! Feels good to be back!

So much has gone on since I last blogged.

We got a puppy. His name is Harley. He is now 1yrs old ( born on 7/3/08, the same day our other dog died! Harley was meant to be ours!) He is an English Toy Spaniel and he is full of lots of energy and lots of kisses. He is my baby. And he is spoiled just like my hubby and kids are.

Hubby turned 50 back in January-- WOWWW. But for a 50 yr old, he is one hot guy, at least in my opinion.

In March, I became a super addict----- to coupons. I have a stockpile of goods in my spare room that looks like a mini-mart! All bought for pennies on the dollar. I LOVE to coupon. LOVE to get super hot deals for next to nothing and most importantly, I love not running out of items any longer, and having a nice stockpile of items that I can share with family and contribute to food banks. It is heart warming to help others in this downed economy, even with my husband out of work, my couponing has helped me to still be able to help others.
I'm actually thinking of starting classes to help others learn the 'tricks of the trade' with coupons and register rewards and such. It's fun, addictive, and most importantly, you learn to leverage your savings to the utmost degree!!

Well, I better close for now.
Have a wonderful day~

It's a great day in the USA. We have a new president and a historic one that that. President Elect Obama. WOW--- as much as I always hoped I would see the day when an African American was voted president of the US, I, at times had my doubts. This is just the the start of new changes in our world, changes that I truly hope and dream bring peace and unity amongst us all. I must say, as proud as I have been to be an American, I have never felt more proud than I do today with the fact that THE RIGHT person for president was voted in, and that we elected an African American for the job.

Our new president and each of us, has much to do to improve the image of the US and get our financial future and this country back on track. There will be sacrifices sure, but if we all help each other out, the pain will be felt less.

God Bless each of us, and God Bless the US

Guns, Gunshows and Kids

Something has been bugging me all morning.

I heard on the morning news of a child who was at a gunshow with his father, and the child was killed because he was shot in the head while firing an Uzi machine gun. Apparently the child was allowed, under adult supervision, to go out to the firing range and fire off an Uzi machine gun, but the the boy lost control of the weapon while firing it and was struck in the head with the Uzi bullet. I have heard/read conflicting reports that the boy was 8 and later that the boy was 12. The boys father is apparently an ER Doctor.

I have to wonder a few things here:

1. Why in the world is an 8 yr old or even a 12 yr old CHILD, firing an Uzi submachine gun? What's the purpose of that?
2. What the hell was the father thinking in allowing his son to fire an UZI??
3. What the hell is anyone doing with an UZI submachine gun for crying out loud. If you are a collector, then maybe, just maybe I can see having the gun, but seriously, what is the redeeming purpose of having an UZI submachine gun?!?!?!?!?!?! You can't hunt with it, unless your are hunting people.

I realize that we live in a country where we are free to have nearly anything and everything we want, but come on-- a child firing an Uzi submachine gun. And the father. The father who is an emergency room doctor should have his head examined. I'm sure this father/doctor has seen first hand the effects of gunshot wounds... and now he has to live with the fact that he allowed his son to fire a machine gun and that allowance killed his son.

What a sad, tragic loss.

My Very First Blog Post!!!

Welcome to my very first blog post.

Some may wonder: 'why do you want a blog page?' -- my answer: cause I have things to say and damn it, people need to know what I think. Seriously though, my longtime friend, Tim, who shared with me his funny blog @ timmyopolis.blogspot.com was my inspiration! Thanks Tim.

Today is Thursday October 30th-- the day before one of my very favorite holidays, Halloween.
I adore Halloween. Love the decorations, love the spookiness, love to dress up into a character that I secretly wish to be, love the candy, love decorating pumpkins-- which by the way this year I out-did myself in carving!! A nice skeleton face is on my pumpkin! Sweeeet. Love seeing all the cute little kids coming to the door in their adorable costumes. It's just so fun.

Grab that candy today if you haven't bought any yet. The little beggers, I mean trick or treaters will be at the door tomorrow night!
'Nuf said.
